About Top Dog

Ed Martley founded Top Dog Publishing in 1995 while still holding down two
other editorial jobs: with the South Dakota Department of Military and Veterans
Affairs and with the Rapid City Journal.

The company took off in 1997 with publication of Blender, Colorado River Dog,
the story of a mooching pooch from Moab, Utah. Since then, Top Dog has helped
Western South Dakota authors publish works as different as advice to the credit-
weary, a history of South Dakota weather and jokes about pharmacists. War
Kids: The Littlest Generation, featured childhood recollections of South Dakotans
from World War II. The most recent offering is an e-book featuring Martley’s outdoor adventures in Alaska, Cocktail Hour in the Land of the Midnight Sun.

Top Dog Publishing offers books, blog posts, and an occasional forum for

Ed, My name is Stu Brady. I am one of the sons and daughters of Bill Brady. You wrote an article for the Rapid City Journal about my fathers death at the hands of Ray Bivins. I just wanted to say thank you for the article. This is the 50th. year of our dads passing and I still bring up the bookmarked article to reflect. I just wanted to say thank you for the article and wish you the best. Stu Brady
